DigitalGlobe Delivers the World on Demand

The DigitalGlobe constellation has recently been hard at work, collecting imagery of the recent earthquake in China, and the erupting volcano in Iceland. Our satellites know no boundaries, and are able to rapidly access remote and inhospitable locations around the globe to provide the real-world perspective that is critical to good decision –making.

Yushu, China
A series of strong earthquakes struck a mountainous Tibetan area of western China on April 14, 2010. Less than 24 hours later, we were able to capture an image of the damage and distribute it to the media, governmental and non-governmental agencies. While this region is quite remote and difficult to access, our constellation was able to provide a rapid assessment of the crisis to the outside world. View images of the Yushu earthquake.

Eyjafjallajökull Volcanic Eruption, Iceland
An erupting volcano is one of the most inhospitable locations on earth, and this volcanic eruption has had a dramatic impact on air travel and the global economy. Our current, accurate imagery of the ash plume may contribute to the understanding of where and for how long the impacts of this eruption will be felt. View images of the erupting volcano.
